NB- We actually borrowed this photo from BBC, until we have time to put up our own even more spectacular photos! This is the view you can get if you start queuing at 10am...
Dear all,
We apologise for skipping Samoa for now but we want to wish you a HAPPY 2008!! (don't worry, the samoan post with corresponding photos of lovely beaches will be up in due time)
Since this part of Australia is eleven hours ahead of the UK we will be the first people from our group of friends entering the new year, muahahahah! Keep an eye out for us when images of the Sydney fireworks over the Harbour Bridge pop up on TV :-)
Lots of love and toasts,
Vania and Tom
Ola pessoal,
Muitos beijos, abracos, brindes e passas,
Vania e Tom

Happy 2008!! I have really enjoyed reading the blog and love the photos. Sounds like you enjoyed virgin cove and made it out of Samoa and into Oz. Can't wait to hear about the adventures in Sydney. Did you get to have the Portuguese tart in Manly?!
We're enjoying it here in Canada and it is unseasonably warm, which decreased the shock factor after the pacific island heat!
Keep having fun - all the best for your Australian adventures!

Ola K & D, Happy New Year!
How was your Chritmas and NYE? We're glad it is "warm" there, we didn't envy the temperature shock you guys where in for. Brrrrrr!
Today we had fish and chips in the Manly Fish Market: it was the best we ever had!! As for the portuguese tarts, they were sold out! Instead we had a great muffin and late in one of the many coffee places so we weren't too upset. Tomorrow we move on to Glebe but we'll say goodbye to this beautiful part of the world with a morning dive in the sea. We can see why you chose to live here :-)

Vania... PARABENS!!!!! I just heard that your paper got accepted into Cell!! What a major achievement, my friend!! I am very proud of you and now you can think back at all the chats we had about how horribly the work was going and laugh... Truly laugh!!
Enjoy the rest of your trip as I'm sure it tastes much sweeter now. ;)
Again, muitos Parabéns and lots of love to you and Tom! Saudades...

Having a portuguese tart in Manly?
I can't believe Vania lets you talk about her like that, shame on you!
You both have a fantastic time in oz,
take care, Dave
